This program is for students who have completed grades 8—12 by June 2012, who have a minimum of one year of modern dance training. Enrollment is limited to 20 students to best provide individualized attention. Students will be divided into two levels based on a placement class held on the first day. Students will participate in four classes each day Monday through Friday including: Modern Technique, Ballet Technique, Repertory, Composition/Improvisation, and Special Topics. There will be a final presentation of material learned in all of the classes on Friday, August 12 from 4-5pm at the Center. The Teen Modern Intensive is a special workshop geared towards serious pre-professional dance students, who would like to participate in a rigorous training program that will be physically and technically challenging. By participating in several classes a day for 10 days, students will be immersed in dance and learn a lot of material within a brief amount of time. A dance intensive can give students a taste of what college dance programs are like. Deposit $100/total tuition $600.
