The Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble

The Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble (SAYE) is a unique opportunity for the serious dance student. As the only modern-based program of its kind in the East Bay, we are proud to offer a comprehensive pre-professional training program for students who are interested in taking their dancing to the next level. Past students have gone on to study dance at NYU, Scripps College, the University of Washington, and UC Irvine.

The program is geared toward the committed high school student who is looking for an intense dance program, as well as those who are interested in entering a college dance department. As a participant in SAYE, students will have the opportunity to perform the works of Bay Area choreographers at local festivals and events, see live professional dance performances, and take master classes with visiting companies and artists.

Participation in the Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble is by AUDITION ONLY. The audition takes place once a year at the end of the Winter/Spring semester.

2012-2013 SAYE Audition is Tuesday, June 12th from 4:30-6:00pm
at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center
